[…] This is the trailer of French director Christophe Honoré’s new movie “Homme Au Bain” (engl. title “Man At Bath”) which will be screened at the Locarno film festival as one of the entries of the competition at the beginning of August. It will officially premiere at September 22nd. According to the movie’s festival press kit which is available here (I especially love Francois Sagat’s CV) the film tells the story of a split-up couple that rediscovers its sexual freedom and is located both in Gennevilliers in the suburbs of Paris and New York. Apart from Mr. Sagats appearance the trailer hasn’t really convinced me yet that I really need to see this movie, but the fact that the Locarno warns “sensitive viewers” about “shocking scenes” makes it kind of interesting. Content de voir que ta carrière évolue, content de voir aussi que Christophe Honoré arrête de choisir des acteurs typiques “parisiens” sortis du conservatoire pr s’interresser à des personnes riches et remplies d’une vie atypique ! J’espère que le tournage s’est bien passé ! J’ai hate de voir les répercussions, bientôt François aux Césars !

J’admire les forces évocatrices de la sensualité. L’érotisme est un art qui de tout temps a inspiré peintres, poètes et musiciens. On a souvent oublié que le corps sculptural d’un homme exprime la beauté même. Les grecs le savaient eux. Tu as ce merveilleux pouvoir François de captiver dans le silence le regard combien mystifié du spectateur. Puissance et fragilité se dégage de tout ton être.On devine même une certaine pudeur. C’est magnifique de mettre en image toute cette poésie de l’être. J’ai transfiguré ton image et je l’ai métamorphosée dans un univers sonore qui est mien… Parce que j’aime tout ce qui est beau. Je te souhaite de te découvrir et de t’accomplir dans cette voie nouvelle que tu as choisie.
